We have recently broken ground on a new school in Thon Met Village in Western Ethiopia, serving a community of war refugees, unable to return to their native countries due to ongoing conflict. Only a few of our 38 children have had the good luck to get off the waiting list to attend the only current local school. Instead of hoping for our other children to be invited to school, we decided to build our own.

The Thon Met Peace School, although a modest 4 room structure, will have an enormous value in the lives of our children. For almost all these children, the Peace School will be their first safe, steady educational experience.
